The 2023 APC governorship candidate in Adamawa state, Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmad, a.k.a Binani has called on the Adamawa State Governor, Rt Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, a.k.a Fresh Air, to consider politics without bitterness with the 2023 governorship election as political contest rather than a feud, fight or a war and return the plot of land, temporarily tagged as "Muhammadu Buhari Square", belonging to Hon Abubakar Baba Zango that was freely used for the APC 2023 presidential and governorship flag off campaign in the state.
In a Hausa Radio interview monitored in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, during her post court verdict media engagement, the political heroine said "I want to seize the opportunity to plead with His Excellency, the Adamawa state governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to kindly return the revoked plot of land belonging to Baba Zango that I learned the state government is raising structures there.
"What happened between Fintiri and I in 2023 was purely a contest for governorship, not a feud, a fight or a war. He - Fintiri - benefited from the APC with the backing and support of some of her members during the state governorship election, and Almighty God has decreed that he - Fintiri - should be the governor.
"The saying that I used the plot of land for the flag off campaign, is to say the least, a political past. He's now the governor, he should in God's name reconsider his stance on Baba Zango's plot of land.
"He isn't a governor for life. He may one day equally be desirous of utilising the place or private space when a governor after him could be hard on him utilising public space".
Many people thought that the land dispute has been put to rest with the court determination that is said to have favoured Hon Baba Zango, until Binani broke silence with the peace brokering
plea.
Hon. Abubakar is serving as a first-term member representing Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency in the 10th House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He had served as a councilor representing Yelwa Ward in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area (1999- 2002).
