Support Tinubu to Achieve Nigeria’s Dreams, Hammandikko Tells Nigerians

The Executive Director of Agricultural Services at the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority (UBRBDA), Yola, Adamawa State, Hon. Dahiru Hammandikko, has urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, saying national progress depends on collective backing for the administration.

Hammandikko, who is also the convener of the Northern Region Supports Tinubu/Kashim, a group that backed Tinubu’s 2023 presidential bid, said no president could succeed without the support of citizens.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 3, 2026, Hammandikko alleged that some politicians had been working against President Tinubu’s administration since he assumed office.

He described the individuals as “desperate politicians” whose primary interest, according to him, is to gain power at all costs rather than support national development.

“As Nigerians, we must recognize the dangers posed by these desperate politicians who seek power at all costs. Their actions threaten not only the success of any sitting president but also the future of our nation. We must remain vigilant, discerning and united in our efforts to build a Nigeria that reflects the dreams and aspirations of all its citizens,” he said.

According to Hammandikko, political desperation has created an environment where efforts to address national challenges are often undermined by individuals pursuing personal interests.

He claimed that successive administrations had faced resistance from politicians who, he alleged, were unwilling to allow any president to succeed unless they were in power themselves.

“It is crucial for Nigerians to rally around President Tinubu if we are to realise the nation of our dreams because no president can achieve success alone,” he said.

The UBRBDA executive director further alleged that some politically influential individuals had embedded themselves within government institutions and were using their positions to frustrate reforms.

He also accused such politicians of exploiting ethnic and religious divisions for political advantage.

Hammandikko urged Nigerians to distinguish between what he described as “desperate politicians” and “desperate democrats,” arguing that political power ultimately comes from God rather than human ambition.

“The Unfortunately, Nigerian politicians often focus on political calculations without recognising that it is ultimately the Almighty God who gives power to whom He wills. They fail to understand that when God says no, that is final,” he added.

He called on citizens to remain united and support the Tinubu administration, expressing confidence that such support would help advance the country’s development and democratic stability.
