Borno Praises Binani for N50m Flood Relief Donation

The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has expressed deep appreciation to Distinguished Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, also known as Binani, for her compassionate response to the recent flood disaster that devastated the state capital and surrounding areas. Senator Binani, the 2023 APC governorship candidate in Adamawa State and the only female candidate in the country, visited Borno to offer support.

Governor Zulum extended his gratitude to Binani for her generous donation of N50 million, given in solidarity with the people of Borno as part of her social responsibility.

A statement from the Binani media office, signed by Mr. Adamu Ibraheem Jimeta, detailed the visit. "Her Excellency Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani) was in Maiduguri earlier today to sympathize with the people and government of Borno State following the recent flood that claimed lives and displaced thousands," the statement read.

During her visit, Binani addressed Governor Zulum, saying, "I am here this afternoon with representatives of my supporters and admirers from Adamawa State to express our condolences to you and the people of Borno State over the devastating floods that affected Maiduguri and nearby villages. We pray to Allah in His Infinite Mercy to prevent such a calamity from happening again."

Binani further acknowledged the resilience of the people of Borno, adding, "We know that historically, the people of Borno have demonstrated immense strength in the face of adversity. We pray that they recover from this tragedy swiftly, and may Allah have mercy on those who lost their lives."

Accompanying Binani were notable figures including Ambassador Fatee Balla, the first female Permanent Secretary of the defunct Gongola State, her 2023 running mate Hon. Titsi Ganama, Senator Ahmed Hassan Barata, APC leader Alh Umaru Mijinyawa Kugama, Hon. Mustapha Madawaki, and Hon. Julius Kadala.
