Dangote Refinery Debunk Report on NNPC Petrol Lifting

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has issued a press statement addressing a misleading report published in *BusinessDay Newspapers* on 4th September 2024, with the headline "NNPC lifts Dangote Petrol, sells at N897 per litre."

Contrary to the report, Dangote Refinery clarified that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not yet commenced the lifting of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from their refinery. The company emphasized that it has not finalized a contract with NNPC for the supply of PMS, making any claim of product lifting or price fixing premature and inaccurate.

Dangote Refinery also highlighted that the pricing of PMS is strictly regulated by government authorities, and the company cannot determine or influence the market price of the product.

The public has been urged to disregard the misleading headline, with the company assuring Nigerians that its refinery will provide high-quality petroleum products across the country once operations commence.

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery remains committed to supporting the nation's energy sector and contributing to its development.
