In a recent press release, Dangote Petroleum Refinery has dismissed a report published by BusinessDay Newspapers on September 4, 2024, titled "NNPC lifts Dangote Petrol, sells at N897 per litre."
The refinery clarified that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has not yet started lifting Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, from the facility. Furthermore, the company stated that no supply contract for PMS has been finalized with NNPC, making any claims about product lifting or price setting false and premature.
Dangote Refinery also noted that the pricing of PMS is determined by government agencies, and the company does not control or influence the product’s market price.
The public is advised to ignore the misleading report, as Dangote Refinery assured that it will supply high-quality petroleum products nationwide once operations officially begin.
The refinery remains committed to contributing to Nigeria’s energy sector and supporting its growth.
