In a gathering that echoed with the spirit of unity and celebration, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Bauchi Central Zone, under the chairmanship of Hon. Sani Muhammad Burra, honored Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam for his outstanding contributions to the party and the development of democracy in the state. The event, held in Misau, brought together political stalwarts and party faithfuls in what could only be described as a testament to camaraderie and appreciation.
In his address, Hon. Sani Muhammad Burra painted a vivid picture of the occasion, describing it as a double-pronged effort: to celebrate Alhaji Akuyam's unparalleled feat as the first PDP chairman in Bauchi State's history to complete an eight-year tenure, and to foster unity among party members. "It is said that gratitude is the memory of the heart, and today, we etch Alhaji Akuyam's contributions in the annals of our party's history," Burra remarked.
Former State Secretary Barr. Ahmad Ibrahim Dan Dija lauded Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, for providing opportunities that highlight the Central Zone’s dedication to democratic progress. He described Alhaji Akuyam, a former Speaker of the Bauchi State Assembly and the current representative for Hardawa Constituency at the 10th Assembly, as a quintessential leader who prioritizes the needs of his people and embodies the true dividends of democracy.
The Chairman of Misau Local Government, Hon. Salisu Husaini, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for entrusting the council with capable leaders, including Hon. Bakoji Aliyu Bobo, who now serves as the PDP state secretary. He praised the gathering as a demonstration of the PDP's resilience and cohesion.
The ceremony, which witnessed the presentation of awards to Alhaji Akuyam, was graced by dignitaries including Senator Abdul Ningi, Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, federal lawmakers, commissioners, and chairmen of the six local governments within the zone.
As the curtains drew on the event, the atmosphere brimmed with renewed determination among party faithfuls to strengthen the PDP’s foundations. Hon. Baffa Aliyu, representing Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency, aptly captured the mood, referring to Alhaji Akuyam as “a veritable giant whose sacrifices have steered the party to success.”
Indeed, the occasion underscored the adage that "a tree is known by its fruit," as Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam’s legacy stood tall, casting a shade of inspiration for all present.
