The Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN), Adamawa State Chapter, has provided humanitarian support to orphans and other less privileged persons in Yola North Local Government Area in the holy month of Ramadan.

The outreach programme, which took place on Sunday at the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) office in Yola North, involved the distribution of cash donations to the beneficiaries.

Speaking during the event, the Chairman of the association, Shehu Aliyu, who was represented by the Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Abubakar Jimeta, said the initiative was inspired by the current economic hardship affecting many families.

He explained that members of the association voluntarily contributed from their personal resources to assist the needy, adding that unity and cooperation among members would encourage more humanitarian interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable people in society.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Muslim Council in Yola North, Alhaji Abubakar Butu, commended the association for the thoughtful gesture, describing it as timely and in line with the spirit of Ramadan, which emphasizes charity, compassion, and care for the less privileged.

He urged the association to sustain the initiative and called on other organizations and individuals to emulate the effort to improve the welfare of vulnerable members of the community.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission in the state, Alhaji Bappahri Kem, also praised the association for organizing the outreach programme, noting that the gesture was particularly significant during the Ramadan period.

According to him, assisting the less privileged, especially during the fasting period, is a noble act that attracts divine blessings and strengthens unity within the community.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed gratitude to the Muslim Media Practitioners for remembering them during the holy month. They described the support as a great relief and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward the donors abundantly.

The outreach programme forms part of the association’s ongoing efforts to promote humanitarian service and community support, particularly during Ramadan when Muslims are encouraged to extend generosity and compassion to those in need.
