In preparation for the 2027 general and off-cycle elections, the Arewa People's Democratic Party (PDP) support group has appointed new leaders. Hon. Aliyu Adamu from Kaduna State has been chosen as the National Coordinator, while Hon. Desmond Minakaro from Adamawa State will serve as the National Secretary.
Other key appointments include Adai Edwin Adai as Director of Publicity, Aliyu Mohammed Sani as Director of Youth Affairs, and Salihu Danladi as Director of Mobilization.
At the 2024 delegate conference, which took place in Kaduna over the weekend, zonal leaders were also elected. Zakariya Idris was selected as the North West Coordinator, and Hon. Benjamin Dan Coma was named North East Coordinator. The election of the North Central Coordinator is pending.
State leaders and representatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were also chosen during the conference.
Dr. Auwal Baba, Chairman of the Electoral Committee, commended the newly elected officials, expressing confidence in their ability to provide strong support for the party in the upcoming elections. He encouraged them to put forth their best efforts.
Hon. Aliyu Adamu, speaking on behalf of the newly elected officials, thanked the delegates for their trust in him. He pledged to fulfill his duties with fairness and dedication.
"I am honored to accept this role and assure you that, during my four-year term, we will build the most united and energized support for our beloved party, the PDP," Adamu stated.
